Comments about O'Brien OBrien Seven Slalom Ski With Double Sector High Wrap Plates:

Bought this ski last year and absolutely love it. Quick turning and stable I have never regretted the purchase. As others have said it does come in pieces and mounting the bindings can be daunting due to the sector's mounting options. Obrien's technical support provided me with factory recommended mounting locations which is a measurement from the tail of the ski to the back of the boot of the front binding. They are 28 5/8" for the 64", 29 7/8" for the 66", and 30 7/8" for the 68". The rear boot is located as close to the back of the front boot as possible. I started with the rear fin located in the center and tweaked it from there. Obrien customer service is great to work with and very responsive.

Comments about O'Brien OBrien Seven Slalom Ski With Double Sector High Wrap Plates:

Great ski from every point of view. Fine materials, high tech design, very stable, smooth ride, quick turns, sector bindings are very comfortable and secure, they give a great cool look to the ski, these bindings are simply among the best in the market at a reasonable price!
The price I got was incredible plus the 15% off (Christmas season). I couldn't get any thing better than this.

Comments about O'Brien OBrien Seven Slalom Ski With Double Sector High Wrap Plates:

This is a great ski for the advanced slalom skier. Double wrap means probably not a good pick for a beginner, as getting up is a bit more challenging with your feet so firmly locked in place. In any case, for the more advanced, there is a certain bliss that comes from a firm connection to the ski - especially when cutting hard and traversing a higher-than-perfect wake. I ordered this ski with the Sector double boot binding system and was a little dismayed to learn that it all came separately and several days apart. So for a few days, I had the ski blank with no bindings. When the bindings arrived, I was a little ticked as there were no instructions whatsoever regarding assembly. There are slotted mounting plates that attatch to the boots and then to the ski. I was not able to find anything useful on-line in the way of instructions, so took my best shot at it. The assembly is somewhat intuitive, but the slots mean the boots can be positioned more forward or aft on the ski, which changes the handling, but as I mentioned - no guidance for how to accomplish this. I placed everything in the center of the range (ski blank is pre-drilled for the plates so you can't go too far off course here)and then moved the fin toward the front of the slot (another adjustable piece)and the result was fine - ski handles beautifully. There is a reinforcing metal bracket (resplendent with O'Brien insignia) that fits behind the rear boot with holes that align to the very rear set of two pre-drilled holes in the ski - however, there are four holes in this bracket, and only two screws were supplied. It appears that two of the holes - the outboard holes - remain unused even though they do fall directly over slots in the binding plate, as there are no pre-drilled holes in the ski under these slots. Despite my strong mechanical background, instructions would have really helped. If your skiing style includes aggressive cuts for the bouys and you like to be able to deaccelerate by briefly shifting your weight onto the front of the ski (pre-turn to avoid slack) then you will probably like this ski. Once assembled, the ski and bindings are great, with double laces (upper and lower) on each boot and a nice firm foam pad underfoot. Easy in and out and easy to get a perfect connection to the ski. BTW - I ordered "Large" bindings for a size 10.5 foot and that worked out - O'Brien/Overton's needs to do a better job with the sizing guidance.

Comments about O'Brien OBrien Seven Slalom Ski With Double Sector High Wrap Plates:

A friend demo'd this ski and told me to buy it last year. I didn't. I showed up at a ski trip this year and another buddy had just bought this and it gave me the opportunity to try it out. I wasn't home 5 minutes before I was online and ordering one for myself. I don't miss a turn, I don't break through the wakes. It's just perfect. I'd been riding another ski from an unnamed manufacturer (HO) for many years and I never felt comfortable on it. I get on this baby and I feel like I'm back on my old Kidder Redline (best ski ever made).
