Comments about O'Brien O'Brien Sector Front Binding:

Sector Bindings are the best bindings avalible short of 200 dollars. I would not buy another boot if I could. These boots are extremely durable and easy to mount on most skis with threaded inserts. rotation is very easy, but unnecessary in the front boot. Very easy to skip into if front laces are undone, but hard to remove without unduing laces. Great product.

Comments about O'Brien O'Brien Sector Front Binding:

I recently purchased these bindings to replace well-worn HO 95 custom orthotics. The Sectors are MUCH more supportive, although not quite as comfortable, as they lack the adjustable arch support that I had in the 95's. The boot is so firm that I found I needed to cant the rear foot as far as possible to remove twisting strain from my left knee. The bindings are about 15 degrees adjustable left or right without re-mounting the base plate, which is a nice feature. If you are looking for firm, very supportive bindings, these are a good choice. Zero heel lift due to pronounced heel kidneys. Skier input to the ski is much more efficient than with older style high-wrap bindings. Included hardware are machine screws designed to thread into inserts in the ski. If you do not have inserts you will need to find some sheet-metal screws.

I am not convinced the ski will come off in a hard fall, but it is not so much an issue with double wrap bindings. I am finding it is taking some time to get used to a lace-up binding after using traditional high-wraps for the last 40+ years, but I'm possibly old fashioned.

I have an Obrien Sequence slalom ski. The front binding tore out of the base plate. I see no availability for a K-9 replacement boot. Will the Obrien Sector front binding fit on my sequence ski? What is your recommendation? Thank you.

      A:

I wear a size 10.5 shoe with high arch, average width foot. I selected a Large and it has some adjustment room both larger and smaller. Due to the front lace design, I think size is not as critical on these bindings as on older style high wrap (top) entry bindings.
