Comments about O'Brien O'Brien FatCat Towable:

I have to agree with everyone here ... we love the FatCat. We can't go by another boat without everyone in the boat turning and looking and saying what the heck is that?

This thing is huge. We inflate it at the beginning of the summer and leave it inflated. We trailer our boat, so we pull it in the back of the boat, let out a little air, and the squeeze it between the bimini polls. We have to bungee and tie it down while we trailer the boat back to our slot. We have two large doors where we store the boat, so it fits, but a narrower space might cause problems.

Recently we deflated it and took it with us into the mountains. It was definately a chore.

What I love is multiple people (up to 5 or 6 small kids, 4 adults), and the fact that I can whip them around pretty well, but no one gets hurt.

Finally, I have a 4.3 220hp I/O and I don't have a problem towing it. The key is to get it really inflated so that the botton, which is designed like a hydroplane, touches only where it is supposed to.

We love it, and hope they continue to make it in case we have to replace it in a few years.

Comments about O'Brien O'Brien FatCat Towable:

This towable is similar to a tri-hull when the center tube is inflated. After our first ride, the center tube deflated and started to come out of the back. The zipper does not stay zipped to hold the tube inside the casing. The valve does not stay closed and pops open when riding. We have spent more time adding air than using it. The center handles are not comfortable either. They are a thin piece of webbing which is rough on the hands. The ones on the edges are fine because they are padded. It is ashame because the tube has a lot of great potential.

Comments about O'Brien O'Brien FatCat Towable:

We have been a boating family for 20 years. we have pulled almost every towable made. with that being said....this thing is like nothing we have ever seen!!!! IT IS HUGE!!! i know that sounds redundant, but it is true!! This towable is 10 ft in diameter and over 30 inches tall when inflated!!!
This tube is a lot of fun at the lake because you can pull everyone at once, but there is a few things you need to keep in mind.

It is big and HEAVY. You cannot move it around and get it inflated by yourself. It takes a couple people to move it.

It takes a lot of space. We have a lake house...but it will not fit through a garage door, let a loan a man door, without deflating it.

Buy a high volume pump. I had a 12v pump to inflate our other towables and rafts. IT TAKES FOREVER to inflate this. Probably 30 minutes total.

You will spend a lot of time inflating and deflating it. I hang all my other tubes up in the garage (inflated) to dry them. Not this one...you cant even get it in the garage inflated.

Keep in mind it feels like towing 2 to 3 skiers at once. I have a 20' boat with a Volvo 5.7 (300 hp). It pulls hard and uses a lot of fuel. I have never owned a 4.3 in a boat, but I would think this thing would work a smaller engine pretty hard.

This review is not meant to discourage someone from this towable, I just wanted to point out some things that I did not really thing about before we bought this tube. The fun far outweighs the negatives!!

Comments about O'Brien O'Brien FatCat Towable:

We were looking for something that could be ridden by many kids, who wouldn't take a beating they were getting on other tubes. This thing is huge. No, really, it is huge. It povides a great ride, but you have board it from the boat. The looks we get from people as we go by are really funny ... they can't believe that we have 5 or 6 kids on this huge thing. We are looking forward to a second summer with it.
