I bow hunt on 15 acres and I set up a tripod feeder last year and Nothing came out. I think it spooked them. I hung this feeder about 8 feet up using a rope and pulley so I could raise or lower it to refill with out having to carry a ladder into the woods. The deer are back in the neighborhood as evidenced by the tracks

out of the box. Just add battery, fill up bin, hang in tree. its that simple. Just put it up high enough, or the deer will try to knock it down to get more feed. we had deer in less than one week.

Have not had the feeder out too long, but so far it is working as it is supposed to. It has only seen temperatures down to about 30 degrees, but has performed flawlessly.

Comments about Moultrie 6.5-Gallon Econo Plus Hanging Feeder:

I purchased two feeders because they are very portable and easy to set up. They can be placed in areas not accessable to motorized vehicles. Filled to capacity with shelled corn, they will last almost two weeks, spinning out a pound of corn twice a day.

You can program it to feed only once per day but you have to set a particular time. It does not have the photocell.

                • A:

Mine had them too. Just use some electric tape or duct tape to cover them. Those extra holes are for a different feeder motor for if you want to use a different one.

Depending how high you hang it, the feeder will thow 6 to 7 feet in a circular pattern. I have mine hung at 6 feet and it throws about 6 feet. The corn really shoots out.

mine takes about 40 lbs of corn. it last for 6 days on 4 sec spins. if you hag it from a tree limb, an u have varmits like coons, they hang from limb an you'll have to fill it every 2 days they spin it all out quickly,i know this from my trail camera. i had to put a pipe pole in the ground away from trees to keep the varmits out. its a great feeder wish i could bye just the spinner, ive had mine for 3 yrs its still works great. when i hunt hogs at night i shine my flashlight on feeder an it goes off from the light an keeps the hogs comming in while i'm there in the blind. robert from texas
