Product Description

Precision-made, easy to handle and just as easy on the eyes, the Reserve Series provides an outstanding over-and-under at an outstanding price. These double guns share the same classic lines, craftsmanship and reliability associated with so-called "high end" over-and-unders without the high-end price tag. Chrome-plated bores are topped with a wide, ventilated rib, putting your eye square on that streaking target. Other premium features include a black walnut stock and forearm, automatic extractors, and an ambidextrous thumb-operated top-tang safety/barrel selector. The shotgun features a ventilated rib, a fiber optic dual bead sight, a tang-mounted safety, and a sport set of five chokes.

Comments about Mossberg Silver Reserve II Super Sport Shotgun:

The Silver Reserve II is the next generation Mossberg over/under. It looks and feels like a quality firearm. The scroll work adds a lot of visual class to the gun but for thousands less than most of the competition. The ported barrels really do a great job minimizing felt recoil. I can shoot as many rounds as I want in a day without being negatively affected by recoil. It's significantly reduced. Anyone that doesn't like 12 gauge because of recoil really should try this gun.

My only complaint isn't actually about the gun. It's the lack of clear markings on the 5 choke tubes indicating which is which. They only use small hash marks making it very difficult to identify which choke tube is which. I plan to remedy that with an engraver.

This gun is a great value and should be looked at closely if you are shopping for an over under. You will see some negative reviews about the early Silver Reserves. But as far as I can tell, the Silver Reserve II is quality firearm. I've put quite a few rounds through it with no problems.
