The heart of Mossberg's Just-In-Case package is the venerable 12-gauge 500 Pump-Action. Each JIC shotgun is fitted with a compact 18-1/2" barrel and a rugged synthetic pistol grip and forearm. The basic JIC II shotgun is a takedown 500 with a matte black finish and includes a set of tools and a 5.11 Cordura soft carrying case. Cylinder bore choke. Bead sights. 6-round capacity. Made in the USA.

    I bought one of these. Love it! However, after the first time out, I realized that I needed to make a couple of small changes. The factory pistol grip puts your wrist at an uncomfortable angle, which directs all the recoil right into your wrist. So I ditched the factory grip and added a Shockwave Technologies Raptor Grip. That birdshead grip is amazing. No more sore wrist. Also, I wanted a forearm strap up front. Got one of those from Shockwave, too. Now my Mossberg JIC II is perfect (IMHO).

          Great self defense shotgun.Mossberg offers many add-ons which is great to upgrade the shotgun with extras.It shoots excellent.I only have shot rifled slugs in it.Recoil is very heavy with the rifled slugs but manageable.
