The World War II era Model 44 U.S. was designed as a training rifle to help servicemen hone their skills. The 44 U.S. fires .22 short, long, or long rifle rounds either a shot at a time or from a removable box magazine. The barrel is lead-lapped to fill in the micro-cracks in the metal, producing a very smooth surface with very little variance or imperfections. This process is only performed on the most expensive target rifles today. The target rifles came standard with a ramped front sight and a micro-adjustable rear peep sight. This rifle features a 26" heavy barrel, sling mounts, and an 8-round magazine. Its stock and bore are in good condition and its metal is in fair condition.
