    I have a 14ft Aluminum boat that is used with this motor. I have had other motors with different thrust & let me tell you, for the extra couple bucks this motor is you cannot beat the quality & performance. If its just trolling at a slow speed or needing the high speed for wind, this is the motor. I highly recommend this product. Also used here and there on my bigger 18ft boat too.

    the motor is excelent. The motor mounting bracket is not. The plastic has too much give when you put in high gear the motor jumps up even though you have bracket tightening screws maxed out. directions tell you not to over tighten but how are you going to stop it. I had motor guide it's bracket was solid aluminum never had this problem with it. reason i bought minnkota was from reviews. goes to show you that you can't go by the reviews anymore.

          I use this Mn Kota for fishing 0n a light-weight aluminum boat - with a good full charged battery I can fish for 4 hours and still have ample power to push the boat @ a good clip to shore
