I installed the Minn Kota C2 30 that I purchased from Gander Mtn. on my 14 foot Mad River Adventurer canoe and with two people and assorted gear it pushes the canoe faster than two people can paddle.
With the adjustable depth adjustment it has the ability to skim over shallow water plus it is also weedless, the propeller has a sharp blade and it actually cuts the weeds we encounted that usally slow down the operation of the Motor.
The handle with the forward, reverse and speed control has a telescopic feature that extends and it makes the motor control handle perfect for each and every users own preferance.
I'm not quite sure how long the motor will run on one charge from the 12 volt deep cycle marine battery I purchased as my power source, but so far it has run for over three hours on one charge with power still left in the battery, its nice at 69 years old just to sit back and not have to paddle the canoe all the time and let the motor do all of the work!
My one concern before I purchased the above Minn Kota C2 30 motor was what size to buy, but the C2 30 worked out to be the right size for my canoe.
I would defiantly recommend this motor for any canoe or small boat around 14 foot in length.
One Caution! Minn Kota does not recommend using this motor in salt water and it might void the warranty.
NOTE: You will also need some sort of a separate motor bracket to attach the motor to the canoe but boats do not need anything else.

Comments about Minn Kota Minn•Kota ENDURA C2 30 30" Transom-Mount Trolling Motor:
Used this motor on my dad's rowboat that he let me use over the summer. My parents bought it for me as a gift for my 13th birthday in march. Used it all summer and fall and never had a single problem. You can fish and troll for hours on end without an issue! A great product for a great price. Only ever needed 1 battery, too. More than happy with this item!

Like very much but could have been larger but does what i need. Only thing that i don t like is that I m using it on back of boat next to gas motor and i have to run it in reverse to go forward which i don t like at all but guess i will have to live with it this way. Don t understand why its this way

Comments about Minn Kota Minn•Kota ENDURA C2 30 30" Transom-Mount Trolling Motor:
Works perfectly on my kayak and my river raft. I like that I can spin the control head around and use it on the front of my raft and then turn it back around to use on the back of my fishing kayak.
Plenty of power to move small boats wherever you want to go. Runs for hours on a regular boat deep cycle battery.

Comments about Minn Kota Minn•Kota ENDURA C2 30 30" Transom-Mount Trolling Motor:
product is well built and has decent power; however,
it does drain battery too fast. If you want to troll over 2 hours, you need to have two batteries.

Comments about Minn Kota Minn•Kota ENDURA C2 30 30" Transom-Mount Trolling Motor:
I use this trolling motor on my 12 fishing boat as the only motor besides my rowing. The other day on a farily medium size lake we were fishing and we trolled and row around the lake. Out of no where the winds picked up and naturally we were on the oppisite side of the boat outlet. I tried to row us back but seemed to get no where, but when i turned on the troller morter we did headed back with urgency with no problem. I only had to use the fourth speed setting to make it back it was a big releaf. This was the first time using it and would recomand it to all my friends. Thank you Minn Kota, and Gander Mountain.

Can I use this motor in salt water?Asked on 8/10/2011 by pete from Linden ,NJ2 answers
A:
YES, but...don't do it until your warranty has run out. Get a tube of silicone rubber sealant and cover the screws behind the prop and form a ring of the stuff to seal the interface seam where the shaft enters the motor housing and where it enters the control head and where the battery cable enters the control head. Also rub vasaline jelly over the O ring behind the prop. Then after each use, house down everything with fresh water and run the prop in a bucket of fresh water.Answered on 7/16/2012 by Mike from Amelia Island, FLA:
