Comments about Merrell Mid GORE-TEX XCR Boot:
I have had this hiking boot for almost 6 years!! I have always been very hard on shoes and these have stood up very well. I hike through wet grass, puddles, mud and over rocks in Boy Scouts and they get full use. I also avidly fish and I am stepping in water just below the top of the shoe while putting my boat on the trailer. They have maintained their waterproof feature and still provide great support!! These boots have haneled everything that I've thrown at them. They fit well and do not slip. I have 8 1/2 shoe size with high arches and have no problems. After 5 years, they just started separating at the ball of my foot (the foot bed from the shoe) That's not bad for that many years because I am very hard on shoes!! I am ordering another pair today. I love the Goretex lining. I just played ultimate Frisbee in them last night with the Scouts!! Get these, you won't be disappointed.

Comments about Merrell Mid GORE-TEX XCR Boot:
I figured it only fair that someone other than the whiners leave a feedback, great boot, a lot better than the competition by a long shot, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Comments about Merrell Mid GORE-TEX XCR Boot:
I have very broad feet (I'm not obese) and I tried on all of the other similar boots in a few stores without a good fit before I these. I've owned them for almost 1.5 years and have used them for hunting in warmer weather, camping and infrequent daily use. The were comfortable at first and look nice (except for the orange highlights which seems to be an unavoidable trend in footwear). The laces slip and usually require double knots to keep them tied. After one month, one of the inner soles began slipping and now it rides up the back the back of my heel and out of the boot after about 30 minutes of use. One of the outer soles is becoming badly detached. This pair of boots is at the end of its life which is disappointing the the amount of use and cost.
