I bought these for everyday wear as well as for hiking. So far they are extremely comfortable and light weight. The ventilation is excellent, which is a pro for me, since my feet tend to get hot and sweat. Note that this makes them anything but water resistant. The idea being that if they do get wet they should dry rather quickly. (Merrell does offer the same shoe with a goretex lining.)

I found that they fit a little snug for the size, but then I usually have to go with wide widths, and with the wide in these they are pretty close to correct size.

I got the ankle high version of this shoe to provide a bit of ankle support as well as to help keep dirt from getting in (a problem I have when hiking in low-cut shoes).

I have only had them a few weeks, so I can't comment on how they will hold up. So far I have no complaints.

Requested consideration for defect in material from Merrell but they want my shoes first. I was leaving for Colorado the next week and needed them. After the top cloth lace loop on the inside of both shoes detached I decide lesson learned. This happened 1 week short of a year since purchase. I won't buy a Merrell shoe again. I'll stay away from shoes with cloth loops.

Comments about Merrell Mens Moab Ventilator Mid Hiker:

What can I say. I'm shopping to replace my current pair that I have worn daily with another pair. Very comfortable all day long.

I also have the insulated version that I wear in winter months.

Great products and built very well.

Comments about Merrell Mens Moab Ventilator Mid Hiker:

I have had this pair of boots for over three years now. They still look almost like new, and are the most comfortable boots I own. Almost immediately, I fell in love with how light they are. I opted for the non-gortex version and was shocked with how quick they would dry. I have worn these boots in the mountains, at the beach, and everywhere in between. They are easy to maintain, and look good enough to wear to dinner. It is definitely the best blend of boot and tennis shoe.
