These boots are far from waterproof. If it doesn't say Gortex, it isn't waterproof. Lesson learned.

As a boat captain and ocean fisherman and seasonal duck/goose hunter, the Merrell hiking boots I purchased have made all activities comfortable, especially while training my Labrador retriever(my seventh Lab since 1968).

Comments about Merrell Men's Moab Mid-Cut Uninsulated Waterproof Hiking Shoe:

The shoes were ordered for work boots. Size 12 was too short, no half size, size 13 was too large. I tried the boots but they were just too large, spread out too wide, too flexible and too big around the ankle. I wouold love to be able to return them, Merrills are great shoes. I assume the fit was just all wrong. Might be good for recreation but not to work in.

Seemed quite comfortable when new and very short walks. After about an hour walk centre of feet began to ache terribly and could almosot not continue my trek. After several months now there has been no change so upgraded to Asolo and gave these to [@].

Purchased 2 years ago for a casual hiking trip to several of the parks in Southern Utah and a day-trip to the North Rim of Grand Canyon. Couldn't have selected a better, more comfortable shoe. Using now mostly for riding my Polaris Rzr in areas of Eastern Kentucky and West Virginia and even a trip back to Central Utah. Great shoe!

Comments about Merrell Men's Moab Mid-Cut Uninsulated Waterproof Hiking Shoe:

Seem like good hikers except: the right foot-bed feels like it has a ridge across it. Almost feels like the sock has bunched up, but feels that way even with bare foot. Thought my feet were different sized, so I carefully measured them: both the same size, but left boot feels tight and right boot feels loose. Maybe quality control needs work on these.
