    Until my last pair got shabby after 2years, I wore them nearly every day. The tread is 80% gone, but the stitching is still all intact as is all the leather. Amazing. I no longer wear them to work (contrary to what my wife thought, I thought they were great business-casual footwear...) but still use them around the house and after hiking trips. Probably last another few years! Merrells rock! They are still amazingly comfortable to slip into after a long hike or backpack trip in "heavy" hikers. ONLY drawback was, similar to most shoes I buy, there was not quite enough arch support for my taste. They are better than average, though, and easily accommodated a pair of the $30 graphite arch inserts I have to put in most of my shoes. Absolutely the perfect shoe with that addition!

    These are attractive shoes. They are comfortable to wear and the fit is pretty close to my normal size although they do fell a bit loose. I was attracted to the appearence of the soles...I needed something that would put down plenty of grip. On a dry surface it is fine...on a tiled or wet sidewalk they are very un-stable. If walking on a tiled floor in a restruant that is wet...be very careful.

                          I've seen a medium-grey and medium-brown. Both are in the "warm" spectrum color-wise. Not being a fashion guru, I don't know what specific colors is closer to taupe. Mine were medium brown and darkened a bit with age. Merrell sells "snow mocs" in black. They are great too, but ARE insulated so are hot in the summer. In Gander Mt stores I know I've seen 10 b/c I look for 11-12 and have seen lotsa 10s. They are GREAT shoes. Good luck.

                          Unfortunately we only carry a few select shoes in a standard "W" size, but that would be the largest we have. Our retail stores do offer a larger inventory with wider sizes (i.e. double and triple E).
