Comments about Moeller Mercury Lower Unit Gear Case Plug:

When the catalog said "Kit", I assumed that there would be a plug for the vent hole and the fill hole. Now I need to order a second and I'm ready to winterize my boat now.

Comments about Moeller Mercury Lower Unit Gear Case Plug:

This drain plug is a LOT easier to install than the stock drain plug, you don't have to mess around with a - screw driver and loose lower unit oil.

I understand the O ring for the drain plug, but what gasket are they talking about when they say "change your O ring and gasket when chaanging the lower end lube"

Some lower unit use o-rings. Other use the fiber gaskets. I know on my 4-stroke 60 and 15HP motors, they both use the fiber gaskets.

They are both plugs, however one is magnetic and will attract any free roaming metal shavings or particles that can harm your engine.
