No problems with this, but have some help to assist in attaching the keel guard to your boat.
The preparation work is made easier with a power disk sander vs. the scouring pad they provide. The short DVD demo video was a real plus, and it should be viewed at least several times. Make sure you use some form of colorful masking tape to outline the work area, as demonstrated on the video.

Q:
I purchased the teal color Keel Guard thru Overtons a few years ago and just noticed some cracks and a tear in the guard, is this covered under the "lifetime warranty"? Is the teal color still available? it was a perfect match. I have an 18' boat and up untill now was very impressed and satisfied with the product. Please let me know.Asked on 6/5/2012 by Anonymous from Brainerd, Minnesota1 answer
A:
Megaware/Keelguard handles the lifetime warranty directly.

Q:
Will this work on aluminum boats?Asked on 3/17/2010 by Anonymous from Fort Worth, Texas1 answer
VERIFIED BUYER
A:
Be sure to contact the manufacturer of Keel Guard and specifically ask them. I know there are some reservations about attaching it to an aluminum boat. Be safe, and ask BEFORE you buy it. Get the manufacturer's contact information from the back of the package, and CALL THEM FIRST BEFORE YOU BUY IT.Answered on 6/14/2011 by Jay S. from Cross Junction (Lake Holiday), VA
Q:
Do you have keelguards for personal watercraft i.e. sea doos.

Q:
will it work on aluminum boat hullsAsked on 9/12/2009 by jr from 425011 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes it will work just fine as long as you do not have a riveted bow that will interfere with the keel guard adhering to the surface. you will need it to lay all the way flush and the rivets will cause it to not bond as good as it needs too.Answered on 9/15/2009 by Bryant C from Tech Department
Q:

A:
It is 5 in wide and comes with a scotch brite pad, primer and a paddle like tool to install it to the boat. The only other thing you will need is a cleaning agent. It comes with a CD and very good instructions. There is also a Stainless Steel Bow Guard for free with it.Answered on 8/14/2009 by Troutman from Austin, Texas
Q:
I have a question about your keelguard --- how do I know which size I need for my particular boat ? You have a keelguard 5 - 6 - 7 and etc -- what does that mean ?Asked on 5/7/2009 by Larry from Montana1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Larry - It depends on the type of boat but the basic rules for sizing are as follows.
5' = 15 to 16' boats
6' = 17 to 18' boats
7' = 19 to 20' boats
8' = 21 to 22' boats
9' = 23 to 24' boats
10' = 25 to 26' boats
Thanks for pointing this out and we will add this info to our product details.Answered on 5/12/2009 by merchandiser from Overtons
