While popularly known as the Spanish Mauser, the Model 1893 was used by a number of countries, including the Ottoman Empire. The 1893 Mauser was used by the Spanish Army in Cuba against U.S. and Cuban insurrectionist forces, where it gained a deadly reputation. The 93 introduced a short staggered-column box magazine as standard, improving reload times. The M93's stripper clip system allowed the Spaniards to reload far more quickly than than the American soldiers. This sporterized rifle has been rechambered for .300 Savage rounds and features a fixed front sight, an adjustable peep rear sight, and a 3-position safety. Its wood, metal, and bore are all in good condition.
