The wildly successful Mauser Model 1891 was at one time the most advanced rifle in the world. Part of the Model 1889 Mauser family, the M91 was the primary rifle of the Argentinian Military during the last decade of the 1800’s and the first decade of the 1900’s. The M91 the bolt is a strong, one-piece unit with dual horizontally-opposed locking lugs at the front. It operates from a box magazine that is loaded from stripper clips, a design feature that set it apart from almost every other military rifle of the day. The rifle’s action is similar in many ways to modern bolt-actions and is very dependable. This Argentine rifle features adjustable aperture sights and a 2-position thumb safety. Its wood and bore are in good condition and its metal is in very good condition.
