Product Description
maui_jim Maui Jim Kahuna Sunglasses are inspired by Kahuna, a highly trained expert in an ancient and distinctly Hawaiian craft. Canoe-making, fishing, healing, and yes, even surfing. A Maui Jim bestseller for more than 15 years, the Kahuna is a true classic that will stand the test of time. Perfect for outdoor activities or a little beachside rejuvenation, the Kahuna's lens treatments and frames are saltwater-safe. This bold, modified aviator wrap frame offers generous coverage for added protection against wind, blowing sand, and debris. The refined rectangular frame complements a wide range of facial shapes. Maui Jim case and cleaning cloth included.

LENSES:
• Neutral Grey: Perfect for especially bright, direct sunlight, Neutral Grey lenses offer rich color and contrast along with the highest available light production, unlike ordinary grey lenses that flatten light evenly across the spectrum.
• HCL Bronze: From full sun to overcast, HCL Bronze lenses provide excellent contrast for everyday variable conditions. If you love a warm, subtle bronze tint, HCL Bronze lenses are the perfect choice for you!
• PolarizedPlus 2: In every pair of Maui Jims, you'll find this patented, color-infused lens technology. PolarizedPlus 2 lenses wipe out 99.9% of glare, 100% of harmful UV rays, and boost color via specially designed lens treatments. The result: A clearer view, crisper contrast, and amazing brilliance.
• ST (SuperThin) Glass: When clarity is the priority, go with the best optics available. Durable and scratch-resistant, ST Glass lenses are 20% thinner and lighter than standard laminated glass lenses to ensure long-wearing comfort, whether you're driving or relying on them every day. Three rare earth elements ensure brilliance everywhere you look.

FRAMES:
• Material:
Extremely strong, corrosion-resistant Monel metal alloy frame. Adjustable, metal-core cellulose acetate temple tips for flexibility.
• Finishing Treatment: Smooth metal finish for a strong look and feel, Contrasting temple tips feature a sophisticated tortoise shell pattern.
• Hinge: The anti-corrosive spring hinge provides exceptional flexibility while offering a secure, comfortable fit for various face shapes and sizes.
• Bridge: Saddle-style, double-bow crossbar with nonslip silicone nose pads for comfort.

After buying these beautifully crafted Maui Jim sunglasses, I regret every single penny I ever spent on Oakley's products, which are all cheap plastic (both frames AND lenses) and average nearly $100 for the cheapest styles. I've owned this copper-colored Kahuna design for about seven years now and they're still in mint condition because everything is top-quality; the frames are metal, the polarized lenses are glass, and all the trim is highly detailed and milled (the metal parts, especially). Even the tortoise shell is superb in finish. NOTE: The copper color is between gold and a new copper penny; it's basically perfect in my humble opinion. I'm now buying a second pair to keep in another car, as I can never remember to move the first one around correctly and since they're expensive, I didn't need two pairs initially. That's the funny thing though; you REALLY get what you pay for! These are like a Rolex -- you're going to be handing them to somebody one day as a memento of yourself because they will still be around and in great shape. The Kahuna design is timeless too, as all my family has tried them at one moment or another while in my car and they look good on many face types. So yeah, it's just a pair of sunglasses, but if you're willing to spend a bit now, you'll never ever have to buy a another pair again (unless you need another pair in a second location). And again, a reminder: do not bother with other brands' plastic glasses... you'll just end up with scratched plastic lenses and a guilty conscience.

I have owned prescription Maui Jim sunglasses for years and love them - in fact I really can't go outside during daylight hours without them. I've lost a pair in a lake during vacation - called and paid a local diver to retrieve them. Last week I tried to purchase my next pair - the Kahuna - only to be told my prescription is no longer being made - how can that be?!?! I was wearing my beloved Maui's as the news was being delivered.

Comfort, Clarity, and Protection!

Comments about Maui Jim Kahuna Sunglasses - Gunmetal Frame with Neutral Grey Lens:

I've owned a Kahuna for about 12 years. I'm on my 4th one (I lose one every 3 or 4 years). My 3rd one I did not lose. It was dropped and bent out of shape, so the lens was falling out. But I'd still wear it. Finally my last drop broke the ear piece off. So I bought a new one. A few months later I decided to send the broken one for repair, not knowing what it would cost. I just got it back. It looks brand new. The frame is perfect. The nose pieces have been replaced. And the cost? $10, including shipping back to me. Maui Jim is simply amazing. And these glasses are really the best quality.

The Best

Comments about Maui Jim Kahuna Sunglasses - Gunmetal Frame with Neutral Grey Lens:

I am a cheap, frugal, thrifty person so the thought of spending $300 on a pair of sunglasss did not appeal top me. After owning these sunglasses for a week I am very glad I purchased them. I have owned Oakleys, Ray-Ban Boelle, Italian designer eyewear as well as cheap drugstore eyewear. These are without a doubt the best sunglasses I have ever owned I have used them hiking, and watching tennis all day long at professional tennis tournaments. The optics are wonderful and enhance all of thecolors that your see. If you are hard on your sunglasses do not buy these they nee d to be taken care of properly. If you view sunglasses as an investment in in your eyes buy these sunglasses and you will be very glad that you did.

My 1st pair lasted me over 10 years. After 10 years, my lenses cracked and I decided it was time to get another pair. I just bought my 2nd pair and the quality and clarity are great!!
