Got this on sale with $25 rebate from Marlin. Shot a brick of Federal Value Pack 36 grains thru it and so far and no FTL, FTF, FTE because I totally field stripped and cleaned it before using. I also fine sand and buff the action and receiver. GREAT LITTLE RIFLE!!! Hours of plinking fun!!! VERY ACCURATE!!!

I bought a Marlin 795 from Gander Mountain back in 2009. I got an excellent price for it, and it came with a 4x fixed Barska scope. So far it's been very reliable for a rimfire, and once the scope mount was secured on with a liberal dose of loctite, fairly accurate. The issues I've seen with the gun so far have been as follows: right out of the box, the rear sight leaf was bent, rendering it unusable. Not a big deal, it came with an optic for less than most 10/22's were going for at the time. The scope mount initially would back out of the dovetail under recoil (which, being a .22, is not significant), which I corrected with the above mentioned loctite. Subjectively, I'm not a fan of the magazine drop safety, as it makes for an overall fairly poor trigger. Lastly, during reassembly, be careful of the operating spring; I've bent mine, but the gun still runs like a top.
With all the bashing I've just done, it might give the impression I don't like the gun; far from it! It's still my first choice to take on a walk through the back 40. It's ball bat reliable, and runs like a top in every condition I've had it in the field in, be it rain, snow, or cold. Though small game duties have since been given to a newer .17HMR, it's a great, utility rifle for home or farm.
