I purchased this rifle in camoflauge (Model 60C) for hunting and plinking. Although it's heavy compared to my old Remington Nylon 66, it's a joy to shoot; I just wish that it had sling attachments.

It's accurate, and has a pretty doggone good trigger. Mine had a pretty rough action, though; I spent several hours polishing it to a mirror finish to get rid of the grittiness. Once it's been broken in, though, it's a real treat to shoot.

If you're looking for a great little hunting or plinking toy, you really can't go wrong with a Marlin.

I am deducting one star because of the rough action.

Comments about Marlin® Model 60 Rimfire Rifle:

Picked up my Marlin Model 60 earlier this week, took it to the range for the first time today, what an incredibly fun gun to shoot!

My only regret, not getting one earlier. Now that .22LR ammunition is becoming somewhat available, great time to start getting into target shooting with a .22LR.

      Perfect beginner and/or training rifle.

Great all around 22. you cannot beat it, especially when you figure in cost. Holds 14 rounds legally in NYS so that is a huge plus for taking the kids target shooting.

Comments about Marlin® Model 60 Rimfire Rifle:

I picked this lil' baby up back in February, and FINALLY got a chance to put a few rounds through it the other day! I had a few other firearms with me at the range, so I only put a few mag tubes through my Model 60, but I was pretty happy with how it performed. It's a very accurate gun with the iron-sights, it's lightweight, and it's an all-around well-built .22!

I was using good-quality, high-velocity .22s, but my gun jammed after three rounds. It happened again two more times after three rounds, and then again after four. After the last jam, a quick wipe-down, and a little bit of oil, the gun cycled the rest of the rounds I put through it with no problems! Things like this are somewhat expected when you're taking out a new semi-auto. Just give er a little time, some oil, and plenty of brass to loosen up the action.

I can't wait to get my gun dialed in with a little rimfire scope, and get out to do some squirrel hunting! Another great gun from Marlin added to the collection.

Comments about Marlin® Model 60 Rimfire Rifle:

These are very well made rifles. Extremely accurate & durable. I sold one to family member and missed the fun of shooting it. Very economical fun. So now I not only have another, but two!! One of which is unfired so far. These are rifles you keep.

Yes ... Why do people answer this question wrong..?? You can buy this gun online but not at a store like dicks or walmart.. You can buy it at Gunbroker.com or another online dealer but you must find someone with a FFL and arrange for the gun to be shipped to them and have the paperwork filed and after 3 business days (as long as the FBI doesn't deny you) The FFL holder will transfer the gun to you ( for a fee of course )

i am by no means a pro and can useually keep a 2in spread at 100 yards without a scope with this gun. better or worse than another gun is really a personal preference. like i said in my review it will fire about 50 rounds before the action will become sticky but in this condition you can still manually cycle the next round and continue to fire but don't recomend it because it is probably wearing parts of the action.
