Product Description
marlin The flagship of the Marlin Model 336 family, and one of the most popular hunting rifles in North America. Offered in 30-30 Win. and .35 Remington, it embodies Marlin's dedication to dependability, pinpoint accuracy, and good looks. A 20" barrel with Micro-Groove rifling makes it exceptionally handy in the brush and deadly accurate. The American black walnut stock and fore-end are enhanced with fine-cut checkering and Marlin's tough Mar-Shield finish. Its solid-top receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounts. It also features a richly blued finish and adjustable sights.

Comments about Marlin 336C Centerfire Rifle:

Picked up a lightly use (pre-Remington) Marlin 336c at my local Gander Mountain store 2 years ago. The salesman was very helpful, and they gave me a good trade in for an old shotgun. Also bought some LeveRevolution ammo, thinking this would be the perfect rifle/ammo combo for Michigan whitetails. Immediately had trouble with the rounds chambering. 3 out of the first two boxes hung up while chambering, and I had to use a key to get them pushed back into the tube. Plus, I couldn't hit squat! A year later, took it back to GM store to have a scope mounted & bore sighted (thinking that would improve my accuracy). First dozen shots I couldn't even hit paper. After a couple of boxes of LR, I was at least on the target, but couldn't consistently hit bulls-eye. Switched over to Winchester Power Points, and had it zeroed within 9 rounds - with no hang-ups. Last fall, I took a very nice doe @ 85 yds. with one shot - right through the center of the heart. Missed an 8 pt. buck @ 180 yds. (shot just under him, because I misjudged the distance), but that rifle/ammo combo isn't designed for that distance. I've read a lot of negative comments about the new "Remlins", but I LOVE THIS GUN! It's so much fun to shoot, and deadly accurate when teamed with a round it likes to shoot.

Comments about Marlin 336C Centerfire Rifle:

This rifle has a definate cool factor about it. We all probably started of with a red rider and had a blast aggrevating all the surrounding wildlife as kids and this rifle is an extention of that for me. The sleek and nimble handling of this gun make it easy to use and shoot at moving targets. The action is much smoother and tighter than the Winchester 94 (at least all of the ones I've seen). The only thing I don't agree with is the use of the Semi-Buckhorn rear sight. It blocks out half of the target if you aim center mass. To correct this, an old timer told me to zero at 150yds thus making everything from 120-50yds about 4-7" high. Then you just change your point of aim to the bottom of the target A.K.A. the 6 o'clock hold. Or just scope it like the rest of the technological outdoorsmen.
