    I bought one at my local Gander MT,but I could not get it to fit in my 795. Took it back with no problems - exchanged for another one, the clerk at the register said they have received a number of them that aren't fitting. Tried the second one and still no fit - it appears the welding on the back bone (don't really know what else to call it) is spreading the metal and making it not fit. Don't know if Marlin is using a different manufacturer or if it was just an odd batch that my store received

                          These mags, WILL work in a Model 70-P (Papoose). Just not in a regular Marlin 70 (1978-1996) At least, not without reworking the lips with a file. It is a Pain to get it Just Right.

                          The original Marlin model 70, 70HC, 989M2 can trade mags.

                          The "National Magazine 15-round magazine" doesn't work in ANY of the above. And barely works in a 795, usually needs filing.
