Comments about Deck Rite MariDeck Vinyl Floor Covering, - 6 Wide:

Replaced carpet in my 21ft Celebrity Firestar. So much less work than carpet. It is textured and will hold dirt if left out in elements or just don't care what u drop on it but cleans up like new with a scrub brush and a little elbow grease or just break out pressure washer. Very durable. Since it doesn't retain water boat dries out so much faster which means less mold and mildew. Everyone loves it and thinks its carpet at first glance.

We were skeptical replacing our carpet but we were also tired of trying to keep the carpet clean and looking good. The MariDeck product has been wonderful. Easy to install and maintain. We love it!

Comments about Deck Rite MariDeck Vinyl Floor Covering, - 6 Wide:

So far so good. Seems like a straight up flat boat deck is the best place to instal this. I have some contours at the chine area of the boat that made getting the floor cut and installed a little tricky. I made a pattern out of shipping paper and cut the vinyl after transfering the pattern to the vinyl. Water prrof so far, have something to wipe up the water. It runs over the top of this. And ... in direct sun light this stuff is HOT. Needed to wear flip flops until the Bimini was up to shade the floor.

Comments about Deck Rite MariDeck Vinyl Floor Covering, - 6 Wide:

This flooring is installed on our new (Now 1 year old)pontoon boat. I thought a vinyl floor was such a good idea but it is beige and looks terrible even after our attempts to clean it. Dirt, mold, and every thing that falls from the trees collects in the "embossed texture". I strongly recommend against it and am now looking to see if I can get carpet to put over it.

Can the plywood be stained or be coated with Polyurethane and still have the glue stick to both the wood and MariDeck Vinyl?

Thank you for your question. The polyurethane coating may inhibit proper adhesion. Best to sand before application.

Is this price of 12.99 per ft I have a 33ft boat. The bow has
a area of about 10'x12' and about 20" along both sides of the
cabin and about 24" across the stern. So how would I have to
order this? I would have alot of splices. Or there would be so
much waste. The boat is 12'x33' total. How do you seal the seams? is there some sort of strip to put over the seams so
they wont leak? Please let me know I would like to order your
                product Thank You.

Sold by the running foot. For example, an order quantity of 20 will be a 6'W X 20'L roll. 15' minimum order. Seaming this material is very difficult and is done by the manufacturer on custom widths by a dielectric weld. Contact cement could be used, but over time, will begin to curl. Typically, people will hot air weld a PVC material like this together. We can special order a specific width/length directly from the manufacturer if you would like. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our tech department at 1-800-334-6541

This product goes down with glue and there is no glue that sticks to concrete. This is strictly for wood, metal, or fiberglass applications.

              • Q:

How easy is it to install? We have a pool with vinyl covered plywood and the vinyl is now cracking (after 15 years). Would we need to pull up the existing vinyl or sand down to the plywood (i.e., remove residual adhesive from existing vinyl)?

                  A:

Installation is pretty easy once the prep work is done. It is recommended to remove the existing vinyl as well as the old adhesive to insure that the new adhesive and vinyl flooring adheres properly.

You will need to use an adhesive to attach it to the floor. For wood surfaces you would use 33957. For metal/fiberglass surfaces you will need to use 33959.

You would basically just need to measure the area you need the vinyl. Just keep in mind this item is only coming in 6' increments.
