    This product is simple, functional, and easy to use. What is surprising is how well it works for being the "low end" of the Marcum models. The zoom feature is easy (just press one button) and a brilliant idea, immediately making your lure and the fish on the bottom 5' of the water column more distinguishable. What is very impressive is the way that unit arrives...in a custom Marcum bag, ready to fish, with a plastic arm which swings your transducer safely and easily out over your hole. My only negative critique is that this model does not offer the dual beam, which Humminbird offers for a comparably priced unit. Overall, great product. Highly recommended.

    So first time i use it the tranducer support arm breaks then not even 10 min later the handle breaks the flasher works great sweet price the pack its in is trash

      When I was new to ice fishing I chose this flasher because it was the most affordable on the market. It turns out I chose well, as this is a solid, reliable, and well equipped flasher. I haven't found any reason to replace it with something more expensive, even though I have progressed with my obsession more. This flasher literally taught me most of what I know about fish behavior and patterns. Priceless.

        There is no reason to spend more money on any other flasher when this one works perfect. I have yet to figure out what advantages other expensive ones like Vexilar has that this one can't do. Very pleased with my purchase. I no longer waste time fishing out of empty holes! Next purchase will be a power auger.

          The VX-1 Pro is the best flasher on the market for the money. The zoom mode is incredible. You will not find a more accurate flasher with zoom for the price.

          Do not just use this unit for ice fishing. Get the foam support, for the transducer, to use it during open water season when jigging. You will not be disappointed with this unit as a year round tool.

            Bought the VX-1 2 years ago. Last year it worked great but this year I only get about 4 hrs. fishing before it looses power. Am I not charging it enough? I charge it 2 hrs. for every 1 hr. fished with.

              marcum made a video on youtube about care for your marcum battery and they said that you need to make sure you get the battery to a full charge after using it again

              First of all. Did you disconnect the battery during storage? If not that can drain the battery and shorten it's life. As for as charging the battery, most chargers have a float mode which will keep the battery topped off without messing it up. It is best to keep it plugged in while not in use.
