Comments about MarCum® ShowDown Ice-Troller Hand Held Digital FishFinder:
I ice fish in large and small lakes and ponds. This little unit delivers just as good, if not better, than any of the flasher units that some of my buddies have, at a fraction of the cost. Does not take up much room at all, and I altered a small "tackle bag" which it stays in while fishing, just flip up the "lid" an your good to go! Fashioned a "float" using a chunk of a swim "noodle" my daughter no longer used and a rubber water pipe gasket as a stop, works great! Originally bought to walleye fish at Lake of the Woods in MN, but it works great for bluegill and crappie fishing on small ponds and lakes as well! A set of batteries (good ones, not the cheapies) last most all day! Lake of the Woods, fished from dawn to dusk 3 days in a row, only used two sets of batteries.

Comments about MarCum® ShowDown Ice-Troller Hand Held Digital FishFinder:
I had an older Humming Bird Flasher that worked ok. For the money you can't beat this flasher. I ran the tansducer cord through the hole in 5" of a kids swimming noodle and secured it with a zip tie to make my own float for the transducer. Very sensitive, marks my ice jig just inches off the bottom. Who needs the case and a 12 volt battery for an extra $150. I can't ever see myself going through that much worth of AA batteries!
