Product Description
The Adventure 14 Canoe provides stable paddling performance for both the entry-level paddler and those looking for a reliable family canoe. Its design is well-suited to a casual family paddle trip around the lake, early morning fishing or even an overnight trip. The multi-chine hull design delivers stability, rigidity and excellent tracking; a shorter hull length means easier handling and transport. Extended decks offer protection from sun and spray while a rolled gunwale provides extra rigidity. Adjustable comfort seating system on bow and stern seats use contoured EVA foam for increased comfort and grip. Center bench seat adds seating for a third paddler. Rotomolded from the same durable material as Wilderness Systems kayaks, Gen2 high-density polyethylene. Design features generous tumblehome which allows canoe to be paddled easily with standard canoe paddles or longer kayak paddles (230cm+). Multiple beverage holders and storage trays are included for paddler comfort. Dimensions: 14' L x 37" W. Max capacity: 875 lbs. Weight: 75 lbs. |

Comments about Mad River Canoe Mad River Adventure 14 Canoe:
bought it for flat water touring & fishing, it has worked excellent for that purpose.
wind picked up on short notice & was forced to used it in light white caps on Puget Sound, didn't take on too much water but was still a little tense, would prefer a higher bow & a spray skirt options.
stable enough to pull crab traps & land Salmon, still looking for the big Halibut.
I think the 16ft would be better for crabbing & big fish hunting, 2 extra feet make a big difference when storing pots & tackle.
only real complaint is bow rides high without counter weight in the front, when solo.

Comments about Mad River Canoe Mad River Adventure 14 Canoe:
Cadillac of Canoes! The seats are padded and adjustable for extra comfort on those long river trips. Lots of room for the family and camping gear and also holds a large cooler with ease. It is also really fast and straight on the water but easy enough to handle solo.

Great family canoe. We go out with our friends and family and its perfect for 3 on the lake near our house. Easy to use and haul on top of the sonata. We also have a pedal boat and a kayak so 7 of us on a day trip to the lake is a blast. It is everything advertised to be so take my word and you wont be sorry....Have fun,,,,,We do. ps... Gander Mountain is the best.

Comments about Mad River Canoe Mad River Adventure 14 Canoe:
I was looking for a canoe for the family and one that I could use for adventure racing, but I did not want a very big canoe, and I did not want a kayak. The Adventure 14 canoe turned out to be exactly what we were looking for, and exceed my expectations in every way. My wife sat up front, 2 kids (ages 5 and 3) in the middle seat, and myself in the back. We had a great time exploring the lake fingers that the larger motor boats avioid. The seats with backrest are extreemly comfortable. The shape of the boat allowed for easy paddling. The carring handles work great. The cup holders need to be deeper, and it would be nice if there was a hole in the base of the cup and rod holders to allow water to drain. But these are a small inconvience for such a great boat. Stability is good. It did get a bit wobbly when the kids would lean over the side, but we never once felt like we would tip over. The boat tracks and steers great! I decided to buy this boat from Gander Mt rather than [...] due to color choice (Sand vs Red), [...] if you're considering a canoe for the family - this is it!
