              The ad does not illustrate that there is only one welded attachment plate that mounts on the right side of the skeg. A loose square backing plate attaches on the left side with 4 SS hex bolts and lock nuts that you may have to cut to size. The two sides of your skegg will look somewhat different from each other. From the photos on their ad, one would assume there were two welded plates for strength. Besides aesthetics issues and sorta rough hydrodynamics, I would not want to bust through rough underwater obstructions without this tank!

              This is a must-have if you are in shallow water most of the time. Just wiped out two props so I really needed the protection. It will extend your skeg 2 to 4 inches so you may find bottom more often, but not at the expense of your prop. I am running a 20 foot pontoon in the Indian River along the Treasure Coast of Florida where there are lots of sandbars....and a few rocks!
