Comments about M S R MSR WhisperLite Stove:
the best stove I have ever owned, rugged, lightwieght, easily cleaned, very stable with additional base. flexible fuel sources, can get much better, I guess that is why you see so many on the trail and in the woods.

Comments about M S R MSR WhisperLite Stove:
This is a cool stove that has been around for years I bought mine a few years ago and love it. I purchased it while in the military and used it all over the world. Its tough and can burn on just about anything. I had it in alaska where I had limited fuel choices and it worked great. MSR makes great products and has an awesome warranty program YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR......Buy MSR

Comments about M S R MSR WhisperLite Stove:
I've had mine since 1999 and what I like about it is it's simplicity. You can disassemble it,clean it, and reassemble with the simple tools provided and little time. It heats well and quickly and I always end up taking along more fuel than I use because it's pretty darn efficient.
The only downside is that nature doesn't always provide a nice level surface and you can spend 10 minutes creating something stable to rest it on. Put a big pot of water on top and it can be dangerously top heavy since the stove footprint isn't very wide and it weighs so little. You'll probably find the same problem with other stoves though.

Q:
What exactly is "white gas"? What do the fuel bottles typically cost, and what do they weigh full?Asked on 11/7/2009 by Utah, backpacker from Deer Trail, Co.1 answer
A:
White gas is Coleman fuel/camp fuel. It is basically gasoline without the detergents and other additives. Not sure of the weight or cost, but you might check out MSR's website for the weight.Answered on 3/6/2010 by Paul from Duluth, MN
Q:
What kind of fuel does this use and does it come with the stove at the listed price.Asked on 5/12/2009 by Anonymous1 answer
A:
This stove uses white gas and should include a nozzle for burning kerosene as well. No fuel comes with the stove. Great stove, I've taken it on many backpacking trips.Answered on 6/5/2009 by Big Chops from Davenport, IA
