Includes Camp Dutch Oven Cooking 101 book. Made of cast iron. Pre-seasoned and ready to use. • Capacity: 8 qt. • Dimensions: 14" dia. x 5.5"D Lodge - America's Original Cookware: When Joseph Lodge began making cast iron in the late 1800s, he began a legacy of enduring quality that has carried forward for four generations and counting. Today, Lodge is still a family-owned and operated business producing the finest, most extensive selection of cast-iron goods on the market. Amazingly, some of the first cast-iron frying pans, tea kettles, and Dutch ovens made over 100 years ago are still in use. Lodge's privately-held metal formula, precision molds, and exacting wall thickness are the result of years of dedication to improving quality that began with the first skillet from the first mold. Not even the most expensive stainless or aluminum cookware can rival the even heating, heat retention, durability, and value of Lodge Cast Iron. |

Comments about Lodge Cast Iron Lodge Logic® Camp Dutch Oven, 8-qt., 12" dia. x 5"D:
Unbelievable cooking device with minimal charcoal needs. Easy to control temp by number of briquettes below and on lid of Dutch oven. First meal of chicken breasts and rice cooked perfectly with moist rice and tender chicken. Followed with apple cobbler that was better than Grandma used to make.

Comments about Lodge Cast Iron Lodge Logic® Camp Dutch Oven, 8-qt., 12" dia. x 5"D:
This is a really great dutch oven. I took it on a canoe trip down the Colorado River and made chili and Mountain Man Breakfast with it for 30 people. The meals came out delicious. It only took 1 1/2 pots to feed everyone! The only problem with it is that it's a little high for placing coals beneath it. We stuck it on the grill above the fire and placed coals on the lid and it worked out great. I looked around and Gander had the best price deal.

Comments about Lodge Cast Iron Lodge Logic® Camp Dutch Oven, 8-qt., 12" dia. x 5"D:
Cast iron is the way to go. It heats more evenly than aluminum, last forever and it's remarkable the things one can cook it this cowboy or camper oven. It is true that cast has a lot of weight to it, but the characteritics of cast lend to it's overall appeal. As the oven is used and if properly seasoned and cleaned, the product will maintain a great cooking surface. I will be using mine for our families' outdoor adventures and to teach others about dutch oven camp cooking.
