Comments about Leupold Stevens STD Mounting Rings, Matte, 1", Low: 0.65":

I have installed these rings on two rifles, a Rem 7600 pump 30-06, and a Rem 700 ADL short-action in .243 Win. They are of very high quality for the price, an excellent value for Made in the USA steel scope rings. Nice engraving on top half of rings. The bottom half of the front ring "dovetails" into a slot on the base, requiring a 90 degree turn, which requires a 9/16" open end wrench, and a surprising amount of strength and patience to turn carefully. It is also a good idea to plan your install, choosing your base and base orientation with care. T15 Torx head screws are used for the base screws and ring screws, and a small wrench is included, however I purchased a Torx driver in this size separately for ease of install and torque "feel", take care not to over torque any screws. The bottom half of the rear ring is "trapped" between the two windage screws, allowing you to center the crosshairs while bore sighting and preserve the scope adjustments for final sighting in. When completed, a very solid set up, although not quick-release. I have never had a scope "slip", or knocked out of zero.
