Comments about Lee Deluxe 4-Hole Turret Press Kit with Auto Index:

Pistol lovers will love this. Unfortunantly, the larger caliber users not so unless they disconnect the auto index and do it like a single stage press. Being a rifle shooter,I set it to manual index and love it as apposed to a single stage press.Just turn the die you want and pull away. Another negative for rifle,is the auto indexing powder dispenser. You may have to find a separate freesting dispenser and lee's are pretty decent and cheap.

Comments about Lee Deluxe 4-Hole Turret Press Kit with Auto Index:

Reloading is a hobby within a hobby. "Rolling your own" loads is pretty satisfying, is cost-effective and fun (provided you are careful, y'all!).

Pros: The Lee Turret Press is an ideal choice for the following:
- Those who want to reload moderate, but not huge quantities of ammo.
- Those who don't want to pay a fortune and don't care if its not shiny / expensive.
- Those who think a single-stage press is too time consuming, and think a progressive press is complicated and expensive.
- Those who like the safety factor of being able to reload / monitor one round at a time (like a single stage), but want more speed and convenience (like a progressive).

Cons: This product is not for you:
- If you shoot high volumes OR if you shoot low volumes. If the former, go progressive. If the latter, just buy factory loads.
- If you shoot long distance and/or want super-high accuracy. Although this press would work, a single stage would be better.
- If you're picky. This press is not fancy; but it gets the job done.

I did a LOT of research before choosing this press. What I quickly found was that the generally positive feedback on this press is only surpassed by its affordability - Don't let the low price or the Lee nay-sayers make you think it's junk. In fact, the reviews I saw were, on average, better than that for some big-name progressives costing 3 - 4x as much. For the $$ you can't go wrong. Although it's not perfect (nothing is), for me it's literally more "bang" for my buck.

Hints (especially to greenhorns like I was):

Take your time setting it up and starting off. Before trying to crank out reloads, do your own research: look at videos online, etc. And be sure to pick up a good reloading manual to get safe, reliable load recipes. Pay special attention to all the safety stuff - especially on load recipes, grain measurement, visual inpection of the charge dropped, primer seating, and other important stuff. The only bang you want is when you pull the trigger.

When you buy this thing, you need dies for your caliber. Lee makes great 3 and 4-die carbide sets that fit this thing perfectly. Also advise you pick up a set of calipers to check your reloads. Later, other, inexpensive add-ons (lock rings, extra turret/dies for multiple calibers, etc.) may help. Later, once addicted to the hobby, you may want to go back to Gander for a case cleaner, separator, media, etc... the list goes on.
