Comments about LaCrosse® Women's Alpha Burly® Sport 18" Rubber Boots:
I went in to try on two pair of boots I had seen online, these being one of them. I really liked how well these gripped on to my ankles and feet. They were nice and snug, providing great support for my ankles and arches. When I started to walk however, the right boot started to rub against the inner side of my ankle bone, and it became very uncomfortable. It could just be a problem for me though, others may not have an issue, since my left foot was fine. I really dislike the soles of these boots though. The tread is really hard. They don't have any 'give' so they are not as good as others when it comes to gripping the floor. Also, the soles have a definite curve to them. When standing, if I start to lean forward on my toes the slightest bit, my whole foot rocks forward. I didn't like how unstable that made me feel. These run REALLY small. I read on another site that people had to size up 1-2 sizes, and that is true. I take a 7, and an 8 fit comfortable-snug with a medium weight sock. Because I want the option to wear a thicker sock or layer two pairs, I tried on a 9, but that was too big. An 8.5 would have been perfect, but they don't have half sizes. This is a great pair of boots, they have a lot of great features. They're just not for me.
