Comments about Kimber® Ultra Carry II .45 ACP Semi-Automatic Pistol with Crimson Trace® Laser Grip:
Very nice handgun, most likely the best manufacturer out there for 1911's that are not outrageously priced. Anything over 2K for a 1911 is out of my league.

Comments about Kimber® Ultra Carry II .45 ACP Semi-Automatic Pistol with Crimson Trace® Laser Grip:
Overall, this is an incredible gun. The compact design and light weight make it a perfect conceal/carry weapon. I have put 600 rounds through the gun with no problems.
Due to the fact that this gun is a short barrel .45, I expected a lot of recoil. While there is definitely some recoil with each shot, it is very controllable. I have gotten to the point that I do not even notice the recoil while firing.
Ammo is very expensive (around .45 cents per round). However, if you have the money to buy this weapon, buying the ammo shouldn't be a problem.
I did not like the included sights. They are simple black iron sights. I opted to replace those with the Kimber night sights. They were another $125 (plus installation), but well worth it. *This is the reason that I did not give the weapon a 5-star rating*
The only other thing that I did not like about this gun was the take-down tool "required" for field stripping the weapon. For some reason one of these tools was not included in my case when purchased. I went to Kimber's website to order and they were $5 ( with a 10$ ground shipping charge). Upon further research, I found that this tool is not required to take the gun apart. Just seems like Kimber is trying to make a few extra bucks at the expense of their customers.
With all of this being said, I am very happy with my purchase. I plan on purchasing other Kimber products in the future... Very high quality.

Comments about Kimber® Ultra Carry II .45 ACP Semi-Automatic Pistol with Crimson Trace® Laser Grip:
Kimber is an amazing firearm company. Quality is top priority. Laser will need fine tuning. Laser is good choice when faced with a high response time situation. Superb weapon and top choice in 45 acp personal carry. Not for faint of heart or for someone who cant handle a serious weapon. Kick is what you would expect from a short barrel 45 but not over bearing. Highly recommend this weapon for anyone looking for quality and accuracy out of the box. I would have liked to see better iron sights from factory on this as a back up to the laser and another clip.

How do you activate the laser? Shelf life of battery?Asked on 1/28/2011 by Anonymous from Chanhassen, MN2 answers
A:
The right grip panel has a small switch you use to turn power to the laser on and off. To activate the laser (once the power is turned on), the grips have an integrated botton on the front strap that you automatically press by simply gripping the gun properly.Answered on 3/3/2012 by MetalCord from WyomingA:

7 in Mag + 1 in the pipe, although you can use a standard 8 round clip in them as well.(just sticks out approx. 1/2 inch)

Q:
How would you describe the recoil of this weapon?Asked on 7/11/2010 by bbeard59 from Round Hill, Va4 answers
A:
Heavy but controlableAnswered on 8/29/2010 by Dan from Atlanta, IndianaA:
Light for a 45. My wife loves to shoot it as well.Answered on 8/22/2010 by RgH from Greensboro, NCA:
Slightly harder kick than a 4" or 5", if you have medium to large hands - No problem.
If you have small hands, and can't grip it well or control it, it will kick up.
I own two of these, and love 'em, although I have let several others shoot them, and those with small hands, tend to let it rear up on them.Answered on 9/30/2010 by Mike from Houston, TXA:
The recoil is a bit snappier than a full size 45 ACP 1911. However, my sister who is 5'4" 110 pounds has no problem controlling the recoil. Once she overcame her initial fear due to the 45 cartridge's reputation, she was very accurate and very happy to be able to carry a pistol that chambers such a powerful cartridge.Answered on 3/3/2012 by MetalCord from Wyoming
