Comments about Keen Womens Gypsum Mid Hiker:

I LOVE these mid hiking boots. I can't say enough good things about them. I bought these boots a half size too big so they would accommodate both my sock liner and my hiking sock. Friends told me all hiking boots need to be broken in, but there wasn't time. Fortunately, there also was no need. They didn't rub me anywhere so there were no pressure points or blisters without breaking them in! These boots have a nice roomy toe box that was reinforced with hard rubber; it protected me from stubbing my toes on boulders. The mid height provided good ankle support on the uneven, sloping terrain. After four hours of mid-day hiking, my boots smelled fine afterward. This is quite an accomplishment because I often have foot odor problems. I think each boot weighs 1.25 pounds, but that didn't bother me. The only thing I can say against these boots is that they look like men's boots. However, that's a very small issue because, for me, hiking is less about looking good and more about feeling good.

This was my first hike. I bought these boots to touch the perpetual ice in the Tablelands part of Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland, Canada in mid-August. The terrain consists of gravel, rocks, and boulders with almost no vegetation. They were perfect for the job.

Great hiking boots for running/walking with Tucker my Great Pyrenees. I have several pairs of expensive running shoes. These boots are way more comfortable.

Comments about Keen Womens Gypsum Mid Hiker:

I bought these boots to replace an older pair of waterproof hikers. These boots are incredibly comfortable! The arch support is in the right place (I have tried on other Keen boots with the arch support too far forward), and the toe box is nice and roomy. I used to think that Keens looked too weird due to the big toe cover, but either I have gotten used to it or they have toned it down. I wish I would have discovered these boots sooner. I am considering buying another pair because these are so comfortable and I have a rough time finding comfortable boots. The boots I bought are 1/2 size larger than my athletic shoes.
