Comments about Keen Mens Gypsum Mid Hiker:

Very comfortable. Went on a 20 mile snow hike in -5 degree (F) temperatures and my feet stayed warm with one layer of wool socks. I crossed a few shallow frozen creeks and my feet went through the ice a few times- no water made its way in. Toe box is spacious as well. The ONLY discomfort came from me having the laces too tight across the top of my foot. Bottom of my feet never blistered and the boots felt true to size. I checked the treads when I came home- no excessive wear or tear to speak of. Are they as durable as issued combat boots? Hard to say but so far they look that way.

Comments about Keen Mens Gypsum Mid Hiker:

Only complaint is about the straps that go around the back of the boot that hold the laces. They pull unevenly (hard to describe without seeing the boot) causing uneven tightness. Can be fixed with some adjustments and some time, but a little annoying when you're trying to go. A pair of aftermarket insoles would do you well too

Great if you have wide feet. The widest boot they had at gander mountain. Instantly comfortable, waterproof and rugged. 8/10 would buy again

Comments about Keen Mens Gypsum Mid Hiker:

I have been a huge fan of Keen boots and shoes for the past 14 years. I like the Keen Gypsum's Stability. However, the boot would be even better if it were a little wider. The length was good, but unlike the Newport H2 sandals and the Briggs II boot, these run a little narrow like the Nopo Shoe and boot. I do not have wide feet either. I also found these boots to get quite warm after a short amount of time. They are waterproof, but I think Keen could improve them by making them wider which would also allow the feet more chance to breathe.
