Surprisingly quiet, its High-Torque Transmission (HTT) combines a heavy-duty clutch with an optimal gear ratio and ice-shredding blades to bore through ice quickly. Four-stroke engine.         Santa brought my husband this auger on Christmas morning. After many hints from my husband, Santa took advantage of a great Gander sale.               Started it up out of the box on the third pull. On the lake it takes 2 or 3. The pin that holds the drill to the motor WILL brake off. I lost mine and never noticed until I was 1 mile out and had nothing to replace it. I went to the local farm supply and bought 6 clips that will work. I have them everywhere so loosing a pin will not cost me the one mile walk back to the car and the 40 mile drive home. Other than that its a great rig. 50+ holes on a 1 pound is no problem.
