The JL Audio M600/6 is a very versatile marine amplifier. I chose this model to best help with my boat's speaker configuration. I have an inboard ski/wakeboard boat with a tower. The speaker configuration has four 100 watt coaxial speakers and one 300 watt subwoofer. Two of the four 100 watt speakers are mounted on the tower facing the stern. With the M600/6 I was not only able to power the whole system but also have the speakers on their own channels. Having the speakers on independent channels allows for greater control of input sensitivity and clarity of sound. The amplifier allowed the musical sound to go from distorted at high volume (stock head unit power) to clear, crisp, and loud. Mounting and set up is easy given you have some general knowledge of wiring. The manual has all the necessary information for mounting and wiring. One of the many features I like about the amplifier is its ability to auto protect. Auto protect is when the amplifier notices if an electrical short or overheating has occurred and takes the appropriate steps to do no harm to itself. There is no comparison going from not having an amplifier to now having one be part of the boat audio system. Music is now able to be heard behind the boat while skiing, wakeboarding, and using a towable! I have and will recommend this product to my family and friends.
