I bought these boots last season and, to date, have been absolutely delighted with them. Even though I know better, first time out I wore them for an entire day (without break-in) -- they were so comfortable that I completely forgot to take them off! When I am in the woods Whitetail hunting (walking for miles, covering all kinds of terrain, etc), the last thing I want to worry about is whether or not my feet are comfortable. They breath well, so in combination with the right pair of socks, are equally functional during pre-season scouting or late season hunting (here in Minnesota it does get cold on occasion).

The ankle area was too narrow and the width was too narrow. I usually wear a wide width and there was not a boys boot comperable. I was using the boots in very cold conditions and would like to be able to wear wool socks with them. I have sent them back and oreded a larger size.

Comments about Itasca Women's Defiance 1400g 12" Hunting Boots:
I am an avid deer, squirrel, pheasant, and basically anything else hunter. I bought these boots last fall and wore them constantly in the woods on hilly, rocky bluffs, and these boots were great on it! I could climb anywhere and through anything, and they even remained the only part of me that was dry when I fell in a creek. The only complaint I have with them is that they didn't keep my feet as warm as I had hoped, but a pair or two of wool socks helped that.

Comments about Itasca Women's Defiance 1400g 12" Hunting Boots:
I could not move my ankle, toes, or my foot in any directions needed. I was not too happy with the ankle room, it was a tight fit in the ankle region but not all that tight where the heal sits. I hunted in the boots one year mainly all walking and my feet went numb. Again due to the fact that my toes were unable to move.

Comments about Itasca Women's Defiance 1400g 12" Hunting Boots:
I bought these for hunting, the first pair had a defect that caused the boot to leak. I exchanged them and after wearing them for 2 hunting seasons I have found them to be very uncomfortable, stiff, and my feet froze considering the 1400gram of thinsulate claim. What a waste of money.

Comments about Itasca Women's Defiance 1400g 12" Hunting Boots:
I HAVE FINALLY FOUND A BOOT THAT WHILE HUNTING REMAINS DRY,WARM,COMFORTABLE AND NOT SO HEAVY. THE LACES REMAIN TIED EVEN WHEN WALKING THROUGH THICK BRUSH AND THORNS. I AM AMASED AT HOW WARM MY FEET STAY EVEN IN TEMPS BELOW 20 DEGREES.
