I wore these boots to the Boundary Waters (Northern MN) on a week long canoe trip into the wilderness. We had some long rocky portages and had icy cold water to walk in. These boots kept my feet warm and dry. They have good traction so I didn't slip on the wet slippery rocks. On ocassion I did have to step into deep water and submerge my boots. The liner kept my feet warm even when I had water in my boot. However they don't dry out overnight due to the liner. They are also a little heavy but not too bad. I'm not sure why they put steel in them. Fits wide calves. Over all I was happy with these boots.

Warm but not Durable
I work on a farm & we also have cattle. These boots are warm but ripped a hole on top of foot bend after only 4-5 times of wear.

Comments about Itasca Swampwalker 14" Ultra Thinsulate Women's Hunting Boots:
These boots did not look like they would fit or that I would even be able to get my feet past the ankle part but they actually were very easy to slip on. A little more difficult to take off but not impossible. They are used for cold weather hunting Turkey and Deer.

Comments about Itasca Swampwalker 14" Ultra Thinsulate Women's Hunting Boots:
The design (pull on; no zipper) makes the boot somewhat difficult to put on and off. However, once on, the boot is extremely comfortable. I hiked 10 plus miles in the woods and did not have any discomfort.

Comments about Itasca Swampwalker 14" Ultra Thinsulate Women's Hunting Boots:
Excellent in deep snow, water, and slush! The people at Gander in Salisbury REALLY helped me find exactly what I was looking for. I had to buy a womens 7, instead of my usual 8, but a number is just a number, right?! They are fantastic for this blizzard we're experiencing! BUY THEM if you need snow/rain boots. I've been wearing regular socks, and my feet stay nice- neither cold nor hot. :)

Comments about Itasca Swampwalker 14" Ultra Thinsulate Women's Hunting Boots:
I hunt in cold weather, usually walking in at least 6 inches water. My toes ALWAYS freeze. These boots are amazing. My toes and feet stay warm without sweating. The bottom of the boots are great for walking in rough terrain. I would highly recommend.

A:
My daughter and I are both a size 6 and it fits true to size. The ankle is a tight fit when you slide your foot in which makes them comfortable for walking. They don't slide around a bunch. May make layering or thick socks difficult. We were both warm when wearing them hunting in 20 degree temps this year.Answered on 12/21/2009 by teammarlowe of Marlowe Outdoors from OhioVERIFIED BUYER
A:
I would say the size is equal to the size of your normal shoe size. I ordered my normal shoe size and it fits perfect, yet I still have room to wear thick socks if I so choose; however, these boots keep my toes warm!Answered on 12/23/2009 by Sonya the no longer freezing toes hunter from Arkansas

I would recommend going with the 7, because you will probably have thicker socks on.Answered on 6/26/2009 by Bradley from Gander Mountain
