I use these boots to walk around in salt water marshes which is were I hunt. The boots do not leak when I cross an area with standing water, and they stay on my foot when I get bogged down in mud. I have to walk about a half mile from my house to the edge of the marsh where the deer and other game travel. The boots are comfortable enough to walk all day and not hurt my feet. Once I am up in a tree stand they kept my feet warm enough, on 30 deg days, that I could worry about hunting and not keeping my toes warm. Great Boots!

I bought these for hunting last year. I wore them a couple times and stored them in my home. I checked on them this week and they are cracked in the front. After reading the other reviews it sounds like these boots have a major defect. I am going to check with Gander Mountain and the boot company to see what can be done. I paid good money for these and I deserved better!!

Comments about Itasca Men's Swampwalker 1600g 17" Slip-On Hunting Boots:
Boots didn't even make it through one season, there is an inch and a half split where the black rubber stops where it comes over the toe section. Needless to say they are no longer waterproof. They did do a good job keeping my feet warm before they split, that's the only positive thing I can say.

With in a few weeks of owning these boots I found a rip above the toe. After a few months several rips around the where the foot bends. I only use these for hunting and not rocky conditions. I had a pair of Rocky's for 10 years without an issue.

Q:
I purchased a pair of these in 2008, I wore them 1 time in the fall of 2008 for Deer hunting. I've worn them 2 days now during Turkey hunting, today when I stepped in water my right foot got wet. Upon examination of the boot, I found that the upper is separating from the sole on the outside of the boot. Is there a way to fix this?Asked on 4/21/2009 by almost lucky from Hamilton, MI1 answer
