Bought these boots to go antler shed hunting. Tried them on in the store and they felt good. Within 2 hours I was hiking through snow, mud and water up to the very top of the boot. Happy to report that these boots kept my feet completely dry and comfortable, they feel sturdy, durable and still easy to walk all day in. Even the laces are thick and durable, I now own 2 pairs of Irish Setters and I love them both!
Another plus is they are good for warmer weather being uninsulated and breathable.
The store only had the "D" width in stock and it felt a little narrow at first but actually added to the comfort of hiking in them - better foot support.

After 2 weeks wearing these boots they are still pretty stiff.I have a pair of I.S. Aerotracker's which were comfortable right out of the box.These boots don't break at the ankle very well. all the break is over the toe's,which hurt, so I skipped the two d-rings at the ankle. And it relieved the too much folding problem at the toe's. Too bad they don't make the Aerotracker any more,this little brother boot just doesn't pass the comfort test.

The boot was exactly what I had hoped for. The ankle support is great. Didn't have to break this boot in, ready to go. The only problem I have had is that 1 of the boot laces broke the second time I wore the boots.

Examined boots very carefully upon arrival - very good quality. All glue seams were very even, no open edges. Fabric finish is very good. Wore them for 2 straight days right out of the box, were well broken in after one day. They are definitely waterproof - opening day of archery season was under a flash flood warning with plenty of standing water and rain - my feet remained bone dry. Aggressive tread will catch on briars and other vines and pack a lot of mud. I bought a pair one size larger to accomodate heavy hunting socks - fit perfect. Overall a very good product at a fair price.

I've always liked Irish Setter boots. Very comfortable, with no break-in required. Worked well for spring turkey hunt. Waterproof and did not get my feet hot.

I have a pair of 600 gram that I use in the fall and winter for hunting. I needed a uninsulated pair for fall hunting and found these @ Gander Mountain. On initial outting with the new boots, they felt like I had been wearing them forever. They are my boot of choice for all my fall and winter hunting.
