I purchased the boots after contacting customer service and they assured me they were "made in USA". The boots are "assembled in USA" from imported materials but not US made. I use them in harsh terrain (rocky ridges) while bow/alternative/rifle hunting. The sole and insert cushion are still very stiff even after several outings. Before this boot, I had a pair of Danner Jackal II is extremely comfortable but are imported and waterproof is nonexistent. Overall the boots are ok for this season, but will be spending lots of time this summer looking for another boot that is US made with the qualities this one was advertised to have. The boot is not as light as I would expect for uninsulated.

Comments about Irish Setter Shadow Trek 8" GORE-TEX Uninsulated Hunting Boot:
I wear them every day for construction. I usually wear out a pair of red wings in one year. The same holds true for these shoes, other than the sole of the shoe seems to last longer.

Comments about Irish Setter Shadow Trek 8" GORE-TEX Uninsulated Hunting Boot:
I bought a pair of these thinking they would be waterproof. Anything more than a heavy dew and they fail. I just came back from the Boundary Waters,2006 rods of portaging in 3 days with wet feet almost ruined the experience for me. In the whole time I don't think they were in water more than 2 inches deep. Would not recomend these boots.

Comments about Irish Setter Shadow Trek 8" GORE-TEX Uninsulated Hunting Boot:
Avid pheasant hunter. This is the beginning of the third season I have owned them but I missed a season when I was without a dog. Worn about 18 times. Boot outer shells are already cracking at the toe bend area on the sides of each boot and the camo overcoat is peeling off revealing a woolly underside. Boots are pretty uncomfortable due to plastic webbing on the exterior of the boot that supports your ankles. This plastic web digs in beneath the outer angle bone causing discomfort after an hour or two. Very disappointed - do not recommend

Comments about Irish Setter Shadow Trek 8" GORE-TEX Uninsulated Hunting Boot:
I am a Surveyor. By nature I am probably the hardest person you will ever meet on a set of boots. I wear them everyday in all weather conditions, on all types of terrain. I bought these boots b/c they were made in the USA. My prob is that they started to come apart after 2 months. Heel started coming off and the sole came apart on the side. Don't think the glue could take the July heat. These USA made Irish Setter do not compare quality wise. Spend the extra $ get the Danners.

Comments about Irish Setter Shadow Trek 8" GORE-TEX Uninsulated Hunting Boot:
I have worn these for multiple-hour treks through downpours, puddles and mudholes. Dry as a bone. I see others have gotten wet, maybe inconsistent production but I couldn't be happier with mine. Extremely lightweight and watertight.

Comments about Irish Setter Shadow Trek 8" GORE-TEX Uninsulated Hunting Boot:
I returned a set of Rocky boots(Prowlers)for these because they leaked like a SIEVE. These are light weight, water proof(up to 5th eyelet)and comfortable for all day hunting in brush, cut timber and brambles. However they run on the small side(narrow), and traction for me was/is an issue. I found myself slipping more so than with other boots. I really don't care for the tread design...but I'l live. Could be/should be a litte cheaper in price,..my opinion. Made in Amreica was also a deciding factor to purchase over competition.
