These boots are great for warmth, comfort and
durability. The 1st time I used them I did a lot of walking and had no blisters. It was very wet where I was walking and I stayed nice and dry. I also have week ankles and these boots gave me the support I needed. GREAT BOOTS for the price. I highly recommend them.

I purchased this boot at Gander Mtn in early July, 2012, and am returning the pair not 60 days later after about six weeks of light break-in. The main problem is that they are simply not waterproof. These boots got wet inside while I was walking a timber sale in a wet woods after a mild rain. 30 hours later they were still damp inside, even after sitting in our hot mud room. Other issues were that the lacing eyelets bent after the first two weeks of wearing them, and that the boots were way too narrow. Irish Setter boots (and Danners) have been a mainstay of my hunting and outdoors life for decades. Quality control is now way off over there; these boots bear no resemblance to the Irish Setters I bought even five years ago. I'm going on a Fall wilderness hunt, and I am glad I got these boots figured out before getting stuck in wet boots in the middle of nowhere. Now I have to buy a different pair of boots. Sad. Wake up, Irish Setter folks. You're losing your loyal customers.

Comments about Irish Setter Mens Trail Phantom 600g 9" Hunting Boot:

I've used these boots for several months now and recently for pheasant hunting in marshy, boggy areas. I avoid real wet areas (i.e., over the ankles) but otherwise, I have had no problems at all with leaks. They are waterproof as claimed. They are incredibly comfortable - I never think about them while walking in pretty rough areas. I can get pretty dang tired hunting but its not my feet that feel weary. Great boots!

Comments about Irish Setter Mens Trail Phantom 600g 9" Hunting Boot:

First off I have to say that a boot that pleases me is a MIGHTY FINE BOOT!! I have Ultra Wide (EEEEE) feet and larger Calf muscles. I generally stick with 7" boots for that reason and light insulation so the boot will form to my feet faster. I do most of my hunting in the big woods and I put miles on my feet each day. I destroy boots in a single hunting season. These are my first Pair of Irish Setters. They are also the first pair of boots, for me, that could see a second hunting season in many years. They feel like a pair of slippers now. I am here on the site to order another pair for this season. The ones on my feet will be my backups. I had to give 5 stars because of the price. I have spent 3 times that much in the past for a lesser boot. They do run a hair smaller then normal (half a size). Beware of that.

Will these boots be good for upland bird huntin'? I have trouble with stitching on top of and around the toes. Anytime I buy boots with stitching they don't seem to last for more than a year.
