The boots that I was wearing hurt my feet, by the end of the day when I took them off I could hardly walk because of the pain. I went to our local Gander and asked the associate what would be a good boot for working inside, and outside while being on my feet all day. He recommended the 400 gr Black Bear, and I am glad he did. My feet no longer hurt after working 10+ hours a day. These are technically "hunting" boots, but they were the best boot for the type of work I do. They are well made and very comfortable.

great boot . i work in the reconstruction of wetlands prairies and forestry. ive had these boots over a year. sometimes i have to stand in 6 inches of water in creeks and in very muddy wet areas. feet have never got wet. i wear these boots 10-12 hours a day 5-6 days a week in indiana weather. one day its 50 degrees outside the next a foot of snow on the ground. only thing a con i would say . little narrow for other people but for me fits well feel like tennis shoes to me. great boot and very durable.

boots are good fit and good traction. but the width is small and i would buy again but i would order wider size.

This boot kept me dry & warm thru seven days of rain and were very comfortable. They do seem to run a little narrow i bought wide and they were pretty tight.

I have been wearing these boots for years. I work construction in all types of nasty conditions. and love these boots. When one pair gets holes in them after a few years I go buy anther pair. Great boots, break in on them is awesome don't hurt feet at all.

The Irish Setter Black Bears 400 gram are my favorite winter boots. Plenty warm for Northern Ohio winters, these boots are also so comfortable that I sometimes forget I have them on. And that's right out of the box.

I own other insulated Irish Setters: Elk Tracker 1000 and Trailblazer 400. The Black Bears run a little more narrow than the Elk Tracker and Trailblazer.

These boots are obviously well made. I recommend the Black Bears very highly. I only wish they were made in the US.

Great boot - perfect insulation for a typical mild Texas winter and comfortable too!
