Originally imported from Switzerland, the Dragoon's production was later taken over by Virginian company Interarms Industries, the largest privately owned firearms distributor of the 1970's. The single-action Virginian Dragoon revolver is similar in many ways to the famous Colt Peacemaker, but easily set apart from other SAA-style revolvers by its extremely smooth action. Interarms' Virginian Dragoons were made with a heavier barrel than their Swiss predecessors to handle heavy .44 Magnum loads. The Virginian Dragoons are also notable for the slot that was in each revolver cast about a quarter of an inch below the top of the frame and their engraved grip frame. This revolver features the Virginia state motto, "Sic Semper Tyrannis" (Latin for "Don't Tread on Me") engraved on the grip frame and includes adjustable sights and wooden grips. Its wood, metal, and bore are all in very good condition.
