I made blocks of ice with 5X9X3 breadpans at home. I dropped each ice cake into ziplock baggies and loaded them like bricks into this cooler. The ice bricks will freeze together is you do not separate them with zip lock baggies.
Once at the campsite, I parked it in the shade on top of and wrapped in "Reflextex" and closed cell insulation. I opened it twice a day to pull ice for a smaller cooler to cool 8 bottles of beer & pop.
I had ice on the ninth day. Average daytime high temp was 75-80 degrees.

This was the perfect size for us, fits in my coleman tent trailer perfectly. I actually got 4 days with the same ice w/this. I could prob. hit the 5 day mark if I started w/more ice initially.
