I made blocks of ice with 5X9X3 breadpans at home. I dropped each ice cake into ziplock baggies and loaded them like bricks into this cooler. The ice bricks will freeze together is you do not separate them with zip lock baggies.

Once at the campsite, I parked it in the shade on top of and wrapped in "Reflextex" and closed cell insulation. I opened it twice a day to pull ice for a smaller cooler to cool 8 bottles of beer & pop.

I had ice on the ninth day. Average daytime high temp was 75-80 degrees.

    • Honey Warmer

Comments about Igloo Ice Cube MaxCold 70-Qt. Cooler with Wheels:

I am a bee keeper. I buy a thermostat, electric items, and build a honey Warmer that I can put a 5 gallon bucket of crystallized honey in and bring it back to liquid without heating it too high.

Comments about Igloo Ice Cube MaxCold 70-Qt. Cooler with Wheels:

This is my second Igloo large ice chest. I am very pleased with both coolers capacities and length of time the ice lasts. I use these coolers for back wood camping where 4X4's are essential and stores for ice don't exist.
