I got this as a requested christmas gift last year....I was really just interested in trying it to see how it works....Well this year I shot a small buck and almost forgot I had this in my pack. Well I (FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS) and it was truly amazing. It pulled out the rectul tract and I was able to pull out about 8in of extra tract. I did NOT tie off the tract I just cut off the tool from the now exposed tract and removed the bit affixed to the tool. Typically removing the tract no matter (HOW SHARP) your knife is, typically is a pain in the butt...(HAHA)....I would say it too me longer to pull the tool out of my bag than it did to totally remove the tract.
I"M GETTING 3 MORE FOR CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR MY DAD AND 2 UNCLES.

Comments about Hunter's Specialties Hunter's Specialties Butt Out II:
the butt out tool is a fast and easy tool to use when field dressing big game. Make shure you read the directions and it should work for you every time. you dont have to worry about cutting around the bung hole or hitting the bladder with your knife, they say you dont have to cut the pelvic bone but it saves you more time by doing so.

Great product to help with field dressing game. The Original did not have the stopper on the end so sometimes You would go too far.

I used this product for the first time during the past hunting season and was amazed how easy it made field dressing deer. I decided to get one for my son in law who is also a hunting partner.

I've seen this thing for years and finally decided to pick one up for this deer season. It was very easy to use and reduced the worst part of field dressing to under a minute. Push, twist, pull, zip tie, done. Excellent product.

Q:
so you just insert this product and it remove and it comes out clean? how does this workAsked on 9/19/2009 by Anonymous4 answers
A:
It will not come out "clean", however this product works very well. Insert to the round stop. Twist till you feel tension ( aprox 2 or 3 turns) and SLOWLY remove, cut, and continue field dressing. Do not hesitate to pick one up.Answered on 9/30/2009 by Skinner Man from South West, MichiganA:
A section of the lower intestine pulls out with the tool. Then cut it off once you've pulled out a foot or so. Youtube has some good demonstrative videos. The tissue has to be cut off the tool to clean it.Answered on 10/18/2009 by jwhisler from TexasA:
After you insert the butt out,you turn it approx.one and a half ,to two times.Gently pull out after you feel tension ,and the intestions follow easily.Tie off the intestion and cut below the knot. It's that simple.Answered on 11/1/2009 by Running Wolf from Walworth,N.Y.A:
What you do is insert it into the hole up to the stop plate....turn it till it gets tight and then make another 1/4 to 1/2 turn and PULL....NOT YANK OR JERK....just slow straight pull and out it comes.
When I used it I would pull out about 5 extra inches of tract and then cutt it off of the tool. then go about cleaning the animal normal and it just slides right out of the deer.
