Q:How does this compare to a Vexilar 18 and how does the Hummingbird 55 compare to the Vexilar.
email@example.comAsked on 12/3/2008 by Jim from North Branch, MN
A:Hi Jim. There is no comparison between the Humminbirds and the Fl-18s! If you read my review on the Humminbird Ice flashers, you will understand why. I now have two FL-18s! I so wanted to try a Humminbird as all the material I had read sure made them sound like a sweet machine. You really get a sick feeling when you kick out between $700 to $800 dollars and you come up empty. I have owned most all quality units on the market including the Lowrance 522C iGPS Ice Machine, Marcum LX-5, Marcum LX-3 and a number of different Vexilars. There is not a doubt in my mind that Vexilar probably makes the most durable and easy to operate flasher on the market. The quality of the FL-18 is second to none. The kicker on top of getting a bad product is the fact that Humminbird doesn't bother to call or email and apologize or attempt to make it right with you or give some sort of explanation as to why all the problems.Answered on 4/2/2009 by SD Slim from Springfield, South Dakota
