This has become the running gauge I rely on most. There are many shallow areas where I run and this gauge gives me confidence to safely go where I haven't gone before. Easy to read, even on a bright, sunny day. I installed this gauge on my dash amid my other gauges and it's simple to glance at it while running and watch my depth. The transponder and wiring were easy to install and the instructions were very clear and easy to understand. I would highly recommend this gauge.

Winter in NY; unable to use at this time
This product will be used for navigation of the area lakes as we often lake hop. Delivery was prompt and packaged well. We look forward to the installation in the spring.

Comments about Humminbird HDR 650 Depth Gauge:
I just bought a new pontoon boat, and wanted some extra peace of mind, so I bought this depth finder to mount in-dash. We had a bad drought last year I was worried about damaging my boat in shallow water. the lake I use is still down about a foot from normal. My 1st time out the depth finder worked great. My boat and motor still looks like it came off the show room floor. The unit was very easy to install.

Comments about Humminbird HDR 650 Depth Gauge:
Unfortunately summer's over in Michigan and the boat had already been pulled for the winter when I installed the depthsounder so can't attest to how well it works. However installation was a pure pleasure. The control head, transducer and all the other little parts appear well designed and flawlessly manufactured. They should get an award for the instruction/installation manual. It was clear and comprehensive and obviously written by someone who understands the product and the English language (thank you Humminbird!). Based upon the experience so far expect to be fully satisfied with its performance next summer.

I think you can do both. but you would have to epoxy it in place. Used this item once before on a wave runner. I mounted the transducer in rear/transom. I want another one now for the front of my skeeterAnswered on 6/9/2011 by Maleintexas from Texas

Yes this item comes with a transom mount transducer.Answered on 3/1/2011 by Tony from Portsmouth, Va.A:
The last one I bought, it was a complete package. And I think you can do either mount. I did transom mount, but may mount this next one inside next to my other oneAnswered on 6/9/2011 by maleintexas from texas
